Jeffrey Williams Updated:02/2023

Jeffrey graduated from the University of Maine at Orono in 2009 with a B.S. in Forestry.  He returned to his home town of Hollis where he apprenticed under Everett Towle of Buxton.   During his four-year apprenticeship, Jeffrey acquired his master pesticide license, wrote innumerable forest management plans, expanded his knowledge of invasive plant species, and especially acquired keen silvicultural skills honed in Everett's experimental forests.

Everett also helped Jeffrey understand the complexities of forest management in a changing environment and encouraged Jeffrey's appointment to the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine (S.W.O.A.M.) Board of Directors as the southern Maine (Cumberland, Oxford, and York counties) representative.

Jeffrey is enjoying a growing reputation of his own among the major land trust organizations in southern Maine including Scarborough Land Trust, Saco Valley Land Trust, Kennebunkport Conservation Trust, and Three Rivers Land Trust. When asked by others about the politically charged issue of cutting trees, Jeffrey describes himself as neither a tree-cutter, nor a tree-hugger, but a steward of the forest.
