Ecosystem Services Market Consortium Updated:04/2019

MISSION:
To advance ecosystem service markets that incentivize farmers and ranchers to improve soil health systems that benefit society

The Noble Research Institute initiated, financially supported and led almost two years of activities to develop and launch the Ecosystem Services Market Consortium. Noble continues to contribute to the Consortium through its research as well as its land stewardship and producer education programs. In February 2019, Noble transferred its work and management of the project to the Consortium (housed under the Soil Health Institute) to advance this program. Such a member-driven Consortium framework will help enable a new cost-effective and scalable approach to meeting landowner needs, while achieving environmental benefits for society.

The Consortium brings together collaborators, experts, buyers and sellers, and will fund critical research and development necessary for meeting the above qualities. Corporate partners in the ESM Consortium will contribute to the research, data, tools and support to the ESM program to empower lasting soil health improvement, meeting stakeholder needs while accomplishing common organizational goals and securing a future of environmental benefits through healthy soils.
