Moodytown Gardens Updated:11/2017

Moodytown Gardens is a diversified farm located in Palmyra, Maine owned and operated by Jarret Haiss and Johanna Burdet. Our focus is cultivating around six acres of mixed vegetables for our CSA, farmers’ markets, for our farm stand, and for wholesale. We also raise pastured pork, laying hens, and flowers. Our mission is to grow healthy food which is financially available to the people in our community and to improve the health of our soil and land at the same time.

We offer several Farm Share options throughout the summer and fall.

Field Shares

You receive a mixed bag of produce for 14 weeks usually from the second week of June to the second week in August. Field shares can be picked up at the farm on Fridays, at the Skowhegan Farmers’ market on Saturday, or at Belgrade lakes Farmers’ Market on Sundays.

You get to taste a variety of vegetables, heavy on the popular ones like tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, and peas, but we like to mix in less popular ones like, kale, kohlrabi, and eggplant. We strive to mix it up each week so you don’t get the same things each week and you get to try all the vegetables we grow in our garden.

We also offer a Fall Field share which is for 10 weeks from the third week in September to the third week in November. You receive a mixed box of produce comprised mostly of fall and storage crops. This share is available to pick-up on our farm, at the Skowhegan Farmers’ Market, and at the Cornville Regional Charter School. Some of the fall crops include beets, carrots, potatoes, garlic, onions, kale lettuce, winter squash, and more.

Market Shares

You pay $100 anytime throughout the season and receive $115 of farm credit to use at either of our Farmers’ Markets or at our farm stand on any of our products. This share offers the most flexibility as you decide when and where you spend your credit.
