Our Mission

Assist and educate the public to promote stewardship of soil and water resources.

Who We Are

Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District is a resource for conservation information, services and products for citizens of Cumberland County facing the challenges of soil and water pollution, land development, wildlife habitat and flood mitigation. Like our 3,000+ counterparts throughout the United States, we are a non-regulatory organization. Our services are free or low cost and provided at your invitation.

Currently the District employs ten full time and one part time staff members who serve in the roles of District Manager, Stormwater Program Manager, Stormwater Outreach Mananger, Project Managers, Project Scientist, Engineer, Project Assistant and Education Coordinator. The District is governed by a voluntary Board of Supervisors. The Board is comprised of five Supervisors and seven Associate Supervisors who meet on the third Thursday of each month. To learn more about our board, follow the board link on the left.
