Who We Are

Prospect Hill Winery & Vineyard is a family-run business growing 6 varieties of white grapes and 8 varieties of red.  Dedicated to producing quality wines made exclusively from our grapes, we began with 2 vines in 2000, planting more grapes in 2002-2005, and became commercially established in 2005. We opened for our first tasting and tours in August of 2009.

Our children, grandchildren, siblings, their spouses, and their children all lend a hand in maintaining the vineyard and producing our wines.

Our Story

Our hillside vineyard prospers in the Maine summer sun and our vines were chosen to weather the Maine winters. While not strictly organic, we follow a low spray program, just enough to keep our vineyard healthy and productive.

Our grapes are all hand-picked and brought to the crush pad that same day.  The red wine grapes are crushed and de-stemmed and then fermented on the seeds and skins.  We hold our red varieties for 18-20 months before releasing them.

The white wine grapes are crushed, de-stemmed, and then pressed.  We currently press two red grape varieties as juice, making traditional rosé wines.  The white and rose wines are ready for release 6-8 months after harvest.
