WELCOME TO CELLARDOOR WINERY – WHERE TRADITION MEETS INNOVATION

Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Lincolnville, Maine, Cellardoor isn’t just a winery and vineyard; it’s a living testament to the rich history that graces this land.

From the 1790s, when the first post-and-beam barn was erected, to the 1800s, when the Young family cultivated the soil, to the 1990s, when John and Stephanie Clapp envisioned transforming this historic farmland into a haven for wine enthusiasts. Today, under the thoughtful guidance and passion of Bettina Doulton, Cellardoor Winery has become synonymous with exceptional wines.

However, our story isn’t complete without the tale of a hobo, a migrant worker who found solace on our farm nearly a century ago. His carved symbol on our barn door, a silent promise of welcome, has become our modern logo—a reminder that hospitality is etched into our roots.

Our goal is simple: to exceed expectations and provide a sanctuary from the hustle of everyday life. Join us at Cellardoor Winery, where each glass tells a story, and every visit is an invitation to experience the timeless charm of genuine hospitality.

ESTATE VINEYARD

Today, our five-and-a-half-acre estate vineyard, planted with cold-hardy hybrids developed to overcome the challenges of Maine’s climate, has reached maturity. Our estate vintages include Bulles Rosé and Blanc de Blancs; both produced using Traditional Méthod bottle fermentation; and dessert wines Vin Doux Naturel Marquette and Late Harvest Frontenac Gris. In 2018 we produced Maine’s first-ever Ice Wine.

STATE-OF-THE-ART WINERY

Every bottle that dons our historic hobo symbol is produced in our state-of-the-art winemaking facility in Lincolnville, Maine. From sorting to bottling, our winery team works onsite to create wines that are both distinctly Maine-made and uniquely American.

Cellardoor wines are served and sold in our tasting rooms, distributed in wine shops, and served in restaurants throughout Maine.
