Although tastings are largely limited to pick-your-own season, you can pick up your favorites or try something new at the Farm Market open seasonally, seven days a week.
It’s no secret that New England family farms, especially dairy farms, have faced serious challenges in recent decades, forcing many difficult kitchen-table decisions. When the Boothby farm sold the last of its dairy herd in 2001, it left the old milk room vacant. It became the perfect spot for a winery.
So out went the 1,200 gallon, stainless steel milk tank (later a milk tank became a near perfect fermentation vessel) and in moved the oak barrels and other wine-making equipment. It took years of testing and tasting before they felt they had wines worth sharing. Its still a work in progress but they are committed to bringing you the best in a local red, estate wine as well as other fruit wines sustainably produced and widely enjoyed.
Livermore, Maine has been the home of the Boothby farm since 1865. Our operation has transitioned several times as we’ve responded to challenges and pursued new dreams. We’re proud of where we’ve been and excited about where we’re headed.
Boothby’s Farm Market is our primary location for all your locally grown and seasonal foods, embellished with necessities like local milk, bread, eggs and other staples to make your stop perfectly convenient. A full array of frozen cuts of grass fed Hereford Beef raised in Livermore alongside burger and locally sourced meats and cheeses.
