The Sunrise Food Infrastructure Initiative (SFII) encompasses a number of programs aimed at providing Washington County’s farmers, fishermen, and food producers the support they need to thrive, create jobs, and bolster the county’s local food sector.
The SFII offers support to qualified clients, businesses and projects primarily in the form of access to capital, guidance, and technical assistance. When it is appropriate and advantageous to do so, the SFII will collaborate with, and seek the support of other organizations in the region (and throughout the state) to provide commercial financing and technical assistance to a given client or project.
In addition, the SFII seeks to understand the main roadblocks and opportunities tied to local food activities in Washington County, and wherever possible, to participate in efforts that promise to bring about favorable conditions for the sector – economically, legislatively, and otherwise.
