National Forestry Association Updated:01/2021

Many people are surprised to learn that half of America's wood supply is grown by independent private woodland owners.  In the eastern U.S., that figure approaches 70%.
Since 1981, the National Forestry Network has been getting these landowners together with consulting foresters.  The program now serves all 50 states, becoming the largest professional forestry referral system in the U.S.
In 1996, the Network changed its name to the National Forestry Association.  Its new mission includes "Forest Practices Certification--"Green Tag Forestry"SM and other programs of forestry advocacy.
Why?  Because when dealing with half of America's wood supply..."Good Forestry Matters"
